Fort Sam Houston hosts Army Family Covenant Signing Ceremony
Fort Sam Houston will host the Army Family Covenant Signing Ceremony at the Sam Houston Club, Thursday, Nov. 8, at 4:30 p.m. Keynote speaker is Lieutenant General Thomas R. Turner, commanding general, Army North.
The ceremony is intended to communicate to post families the Army's commitment to improving the quality of life for Soldiers and their families.
Senior leaders and their command sergeants major representing the major commands on post will be joined by Army families and sign the covenant.
The Secretary of the Army and the Army Chief of Staff have directed that this ceremony take place at all Army installations worldwide.
More than three hundred Fort Sam Houston families are expected to attend the ceremony.
Numerous informational booths will be on display describing post services for families including child and youth services, housing, medical and dental programs, Family Advocacy programs, veterans affairs, legal assistance, financial services, education and family member employment, and San Antonio community organizations.
