CSM Witzel

Command Sergeant Major Bryan K. Witzel enlisted in 1986 as a Supply Specialist. He attended Basic Combat Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Lee, Virginia.

He has served in a variety of leadership positions to include Supply Sergeant, Battalion S4 NCOIC, Platoon Sergeant, First Sergeant, G4 Sergeant Major, Battalion CSM and Brigade CSM. He is currently serving as the Command Sergeant Major of the 502nd Mission Support Group, Joint Base San Antonio- Fort Sam Houston, Texas.

His previous assignments include 541st Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, Ft. Riley, KS; 18th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, Grafenwoehr, Germany; United States Army Southern European Task Force, Vicenza, Italy; Special Operations Command-Pacific, Hawaii; Special Operations Command- Korea; 4th Psychological Operations Group, Ft. Bragg, NC; 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne), Ft. Campbell, KY; and 5th Preventive Medicine Unit, Korea.

He graduated from Airborne School, Jumpmaster School, Pathfinder School, Special Forces Qualification Course, and all phases of the NCOES. His awards and decorations include: Defense Meritorious service Medal (1 OLC); Meritorious Service Medal (5 OLC); Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal (3 OLC); Joint Service Achievement Medal (4 OLC); Army Achievement Medal (4 OLC); Joint Meritorious Award (1 OLC), Valorous Unit Award, Good Conduct Medal (8th Award); National Defense Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal (2 Bronze Stars), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professionalism Development Ribbon (Numeral 4), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (Numeral 6), Kuwait Liberation Medal (Saudi Arabia), Kuwait Liberation Medal (Kuwait), Pathfinder Badge, Master Parachutist Badge, German Schutzenschnur (Silver) and Korean Senior Parachutist Badge.
