    NEC PROFILE
The NEC serves many important customers. We are also customers to one another. Everyone who walks in the door or needs information, a product, or a service is a valued customer. The NEC director meets regularly with the entire workforce to talk about the importance of excellent customer service and how the NEC's goals tie directly to improvements to better serve our customers. Our primary customer groups are as follows:

    Soldiers                                 Army Units
    Tenant Units                          DOD Schools

    WHY US
Our personnel insure that what is requested is the best purchase for customer needs, and also that the requested items are consistent with the network, security concerns, and the overall architecture of the IT environment on the installation. This is also a requirement of AR 25-1, paragraph 6-3

NEC has established standards for Ft. Sam Houston. This insures the integrity of the installation network and reduces costs of employing technicians who are trained in all possible brands of equipment or having multiple vendor maintenance contracts.
