Information Assurance Mission
The Fort Sam Houston, Network Enterprise Center (NEC) Information Assurance (IA) Division's mission is to provide effective and efficient management capabilities that coordinate, integrate, and streamline IT security architectures and to oversee a robust Information Assurance Program in support of all Fort Sam Houston tenant organizations.

What We Do
NEC Information Assurance Division services include, but are not limited to:
  • Assesses the IA posture of information systems security architecture and environment.

  • Provide continuous monitoring and evaluation of Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) Program.

  • Initiate the deployment of effective Computer Network Defense (CND) countermeasures.

  • Prepare comprehensive DIACAP Certification and Accreditation (C&A) documentation.

  • Assists in the evaluation, development, and implementation of IA security plans, policies and procedures.

  • Implements Best Business Practices (BBP) IA Controls and approved network security toolsets.

  • Monitor Configuration Management (CM) changes to installation network architecture and Information Technology (IT) resources.

  • Computer Access Work Order Web Request Form CMP
    New users must complete the Annual IA Awareness Training before being granted access to the network.
