Desktop & System Support Mission
The Fort Sam Houston Network Enterprise Center (NEC), Desktop and Systems Support (DSS) Branch mission is to provide client-server IT support to NEC customers, to include email, data storage, database, print, web, collaboration, and related services. DSS uses enterprise tools to maintain user account control as well as software and security configuration control of customer desktop and notebook computers. DSS maintains the physical data center hosting Garrison, tenant, AMEDD Center and School, and ARSouth servers.

What We Do
Maintenance of the Garrison data center housing the server farm and storage appliances.
  • Maintenance of Active Directory user accounts for Ft. Sam Houston customers.
  • Provision of file, print, collaboration, web, storage, security scanning, database, and miscellaneous server services.
  • Maintenance of client system and server security configuration.
  • Provision of Tier III support to IT customers.
  • Maintenance of configuration control items for client-server support.
