IA is the framework that lays the foundation for protecting the technology, strategy, and information required for victory, especially in times of war, when the value of information is at its highest; and securing it, absolutely vital to the livelihood of our nation. From email communications to radio transmissions, IA covers the gamut of security measures, controls, and counter measures used in preventing the enemy from compromising the information that gives us the superior advantage in combat.
Proactive & Reactive Readiness: Performing regular IA assessments are an important aspect of any Information Assurance program, as it serves to reveal or identify the security risks and vulnerabilities that may exist, before they are exploited; and facilitate the proactive planning of incident response to realized threats (reactive readiness) in order to minimize loss and speed recovery.
Subject Matter Expertise: Information Assurance is said to be "an inch deep but a mile wide." IA covers a broad spectrum of topics and its applicability to all type of operations, endless.
